BPEC ELECTRICAL ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS (BATTERY) COURSE
The course aims to provide the knowledge and skills required to design and install electrical energy storage systems (EESS) in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems and the MCS Battery Standard MIS 3012.
The course is delivered as a two day block. When combined with the BPEC Solar Voltaic course it is delivered across five days.
The course is aimed at qualified electricians and as such candidates must:
hold a BS 7671: 2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations (current edition) qualification (please supply copy of certificate)
AND
hold a formal craft qualification e.g. N/SVQ 3 in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures) or Equivalent historical qualifications (as found in EAS Table 4B/4C) Electrotechnical Assessment Specification Guide August 2023 (please supply copies of certificates)
OR
hold a ECS Gold Card, JIB Electrician or Approved Electrician Card
Candidates are provided with a course book and should also hold a copy of the latest edition of the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems which can be ordered in advance from our centre. Candidates are required to bring two passport style photographs of themselves which will be used on the associated membership cards produced. Assessments include practical, exam and written assignments. Candidates must also bring safety work boots and wear suitable clothing.
